Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha is an Indian film actress and singer born on 2 June 1987 in Patna, Bihar. She is the daughter of the famous Bollywood star – Shatrughan Sinha and his wife Poonam Sinha. In her early career she worked as a costume designer in films like Dil Leke Dekho (2005). She has completed her school education from Arya Vidya Mandir and later completed her higher education in fashion designing from Premlila Vithaldas Polytechnic which is affiliated under Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women’s University.

She has made her debut in Bollywood in 2010 with Salman Khan in action – drama movie called Dabangg. Her first film has also made her win the Filmfare Award and IIFA Awards for Best Female Debut. After that she played the love interest of male leads in several blockbuster films like Rowdy Rathore (2012), Son of Sardaar (2013), Dabangg 2 (2012) and Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty (2014). These films have also sparked criticism from the critics stating that she is unable to do acting which has vast scope.

However, she continued working in films though she had to face many trolls. Some of the films like Lootera (2013), Mission Mangal (2019), Akira (2016), etc are critically acclaimed for portraying such a strong character. Sonakshi Sinha has also acted in films like Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobara (2013), Bullet Raja (2013), R… Rajkumar (2013), Action Jackson (2014), Tamil film Lingaa (2014) opposite Rajinikanth, Tevar (2015), Force 2 (2016), Kalank (2019) and many more films.

Sonakshi Sinha has also done playback singing in most of her films. She has a melodious voice and sung “Let’s Celebrate” (Tevar), Aaj Mood Ishqholic Hai (Single Album), Rajj Rajj Ke (Akira), Move Your Lakk (Noor), Chin Chin Choo (Noor) and many more hit songs of her films.
