Career
Cuthbert started her acting career by appearing in Canadian films and TV series, following which she moved to Hollywood. After shifting to Hollywood, she first appeared in the TV series 24 as Kim Bauer; she was seen in 79 episodes as the main lead through the years 2001-2010 in this television series.
Her career in Hollywood started with her doing small roles in Old School (2003) and Love Actually (2004).
Her breakthrough role came with the Girl Next Door (2004), where she essayed the role of Danielle, an ex-porn star, and was cast opposite Emile Hirsch.
In the year 2005, she appeared in The Quiet, an indie film, as Nina; she both acted and co-produced this film. Also, she appeared as Carly Jones in the House of Wax remake that released in the same year.
Among the films that feature Cuthbert in lead roles are Captivity (2007) and The Quiet (2005). In the thriller Captivity, she plays a fashion model that is harassed and imprisoned in a cellar by a psychopath.
Cuthbert has also starred in films such as My Sassy Girl (2008), The Six Wives of Henry Lefay (2009), Guns (2008), and Just Before I Go (2014). Plus, in He Was a Quiet Man (2009), she portrayed the character Vanessa, who is quadriplegic.
Maxim magazine ranked her as ‘Television’s Most Beautiful Woman’ in the year 2013.
From the year 2011 to 2013, Cuthbert was seen in the ensemble comedy drama Happy Endings of ABC; in this series, she plays the main role, Alex Kerkovich, for 57 episodes, spanning 3 seasons.
Through the years 2016 to 2020, Cuthbert has also been appearing in the Netflix comedy series The Ranch as Abby Phillips-Bennett.
