Michael Shawn Hickenbottom was born in Chandler, Arizona, US; his birth date is July 22, 1965. Presently, he has retired from professional wrestling. He has several nicknames: ‘Mr Wrestle Mania’, ‘The Showstopper’, and ‘The Heartbreak Kid’. By profession, he is an actor and television presenter currently.
Michaels was a professional wrestler with the World Wrestling Federation (the name has been changed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)) through the years 1988 to 1998. He retired because of a back injury. Following his retirement, he was seen in non-wrestling roles for the following 2 years. However, he reappeared in the ring for a match at the Texas Wrestling Academy in the year 2000.
The year 2002 marks his return to the WWE, where he continued until the year 2010 after taking retirement. Although he became a trainer in the year 2016, he fought his final match in the year 2018.
Through the years 1989 to 2018, Michaels headlined several pay-per-view events of the WWE. This included the WWE’s flagship yearly event, WrestleMania, five times.
In addition, Michaels has been associated with the American Wrestling Association (AWA). Here, in the year 1985, he founded The Midnight Rockers along with Marty Jannetty.
