Abu Malik, who is one of the contestants of Big Boss Season 13, is the brother of renowned musician and singer Anu Malik. Also, his other brother Dabboo Malik is a music director, actor, composer, and singer. By profession, Abu is a writer, playback singer, and music composer. Moreover, he runs a business named ‘Musicman Malik Entertainment Private Limited’ that was flagged off in the year 2011 and manages live shows in India and abroad.
He was born on 31st October 1958 and resides in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Also, he is married to Poonam Malik. And the couple has a son, Aadar Malik, and a daughter, Kashish Malik.
As part of his school education, Malik attended Father Agnel School in Delhi and Barnes School in Devlali, Maharashtra. Moreover, he attended the Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai.
He was born to renowned music composer, Sardar Malik, and his spouse, Kausar Jahan Malik. Abu’s father being a music director, he received training in music composition from him.

As a playback singer, he started his career by singing for the film Nigahein that was released in 1983. In 1998, he acted in the Bollywood film ‘Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya’ too.
Later, in 2006 and 2009, he was roped in as a music composer for the movies ‘American Blend’ and ‘Bad Luck Govind’ respectively. Also, in 2009, as a singer, he was associated with the textile firm, Raymond.
Then, in 2007, he was the winner of the Excellency Award.
Moreover, in 2017, he authored the book ‘Rantings of a Mad Man’ that his brother, Anu Malik, unveiled during a ceremony. As per reports, he has compiled his WhatsApp chats into his book.
Besides, during his career, he has been associated with around 10,000 shows as a producer and performer around the world, along with famous Bollywood stars and other performers.
Abu Malik’s nephews Armaan Malik and Amaal Malik are renowned music composers and singers.
