Sanjay (Balraj) Dutt is a famous actor known for his memorable roles in various Bollywood movies. He was born on 29 July 1959 to yesteryear Bollywood couple Sunil Dutt and Nargis in Bombay (Mumbai), India. He also has two sisters – Namrata Dutt and Priya Dutt. He did his schooling from the Lawrence School (Sanawar). In his lifetime, he was married thrice. His first wife was Richa Sharma whom he married in 1987 and also has a daughter with her called Trishala who lives in the USA. After the death of his first wife, he married Rhea Pillai in 1998, and after 10 years of marriage both the couple had parted ways in 2008. Again, he married Manyata in 2008 and had two kids with her.
Sanjay Dutt was noted for his films like Rocky, Naam, Saajan, Khalnayak, Vaastav, Munna Bhai Series, etc. On the other hand, Sanjay Dutt also has bad phase of life which includes his conviction in his involvement with the 1993 Mumbai blasts. In April 1993, he was arrested because of possession of illegal weapons. He was arrested under the provision of Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA). However, he was granted bail on July 1993. He was even jailed for few years at Arthur Road Jail (Mumbai) and Yerwada Central Jail (Pune) due to possession of illegal weapons. He completed his prison sentence on 25 February 2016.
Sanjay Dutt has appeared in over 190 movies in various genres like romance, comedy, action, thriller, etc. He is also the beneficiary of several awards like 2 Filmfare awards, 3 Screen awards, IIFA and Global Indian Film Awards and many more awards and recognitions. He made his acting debut in Rocky (1981) which was smashing blockbuster hit. After that he appeared in Naam (1985) which has boosted up his film career in Bollywood.
After that, he went on delivering commercially and critically successful movies like Jeete Hain Shaan Se (1988), Mardon Wali Baat (1988), Ilaaka (1989), Kanoon Apna Apna (1989), Saajan (1991), Sadak (1991), Khalnayak (1993), Vaastav: The Reality (1999), Mission Kashmir (2001), Pitaah (2002) Munna Bhai MBBS (2003), LOC Kargil (2003), Dus (2005), Parineeta (2005), Shabd (2005), Zinda (2005), Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), Agneepath (2012), Panipat (2019) and many more smashing Bollywood hits and blockbuster movies. Sanjay Dutt is also known to host the Bigg Boss Season 5 in 2011. Moreover, a biopic – “Sanju” is also made upon his life in which Ranbir Kapoor portrayed Sanjay Dutt’s character.
