Shraddha Kapoor was born on 3 March 1987 in Mumbai, Maharashtra to famous actor Shakti Kapoor who is known for his villain roles in Bollywood. Apart from acting in films. Shraddha Kapoor is also a successful playback singer who has even sung most of the songs in her films. She is also known to endorse various brands and products like Lakme, Veet, Lipton, Marico, etc. She has even started her own clothing brand “Imara’ with Amazon in 2015. Shraddha Kapoor’s entire family background is filmy including her father Shakti Kapoor, her elder brother Siddhanth Kapoor, her mother Shivangi Kapoor, her maternal aunts Padmini Kolhapure and Tejaswini Kolhapure who are the popular Bollywood actresses. Moreover, Shraddha Kapoor is also the great niece of the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and Usha Mangeshkar.

Shraddha Kapoor also went for her higher education abroad. She was enrolled on Boston University to study major in Psychology but left early to pursue acting in Bollywood.

Shraddha Kapoor started her acting career with a cameo in 2010 film ‘Teen Patti’ and lead role in coming of age film called ‘Luv Ka the End’ in 2011. After that he first smashing blockbuster film was Aashiqui 2 opposite Aditya Roy Kapoor in 2013. She also appeared as the lead role in Vishal Bharadwaj’s critically acclaimed ‘Haider’. It is an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet where she played the character role of Ophelia. After that she has established herself in strong roles in films of various genres like Ek Villian (2014), ABCD 2 (2015), Baaghi (2016), Rock On 2 (2016), Half Girl Friend, Ok Jaanu and Haseena Parker (2017), Stree (2018), Saaho (2019), Chhichhore (2019).

She also sang some of songs in her films with her soulful voice including “Galliyan” (Ek Villian), “Do Jahaan (Haider). “Bezubaan Phir Se” (2015), “Sab Tera” (Baaghi), “Tere Mere Dil”, “Udja Re”, “Who Jahaan” (Rock On 2) and “Phir Bhi Tumko Chaahungi” (Half Girlfriend).

Shraddha Kapoor is also conferred with many awards for her mind- blowing performances like Lions Gold Awards for Teen Patti for the favourite promising actor (female) category in 2011. She also won the Stardust Awards for best actress category in 2012. She also won the Global Indian Music Awards for best celebrity singer of the year for her playback singing in the movie – “Ek Villian”.
