Randal Keith Orton was born on April 1, 1980 in Knoxville, Tennessee, U.S. He is an American professional wrestler who is signed to WWE presently. His ring name is Randy Orton and he performs for the RAW brand of the WWE.
Orton follows in the footsteps of his grandfather (Bob Orton), father (Bob Orton Jr.), and Uncle (Barry Orton) into the wrestling world.
In the year 2000, Orton debuted in the field of wrestling at the Mid-Missouri Wrestling Association-Southern Illinois Conference Wrestling (MMWA-SICW) which was held in St. Louis, Missouri.
The World Wrestling Federation (now known as World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)) signed him in the year 2001; he was sent for training to Ohio Valley Wrestling, which is WWF’s developmental territory. Here, he won the OVW Hardcore Championship two times.
Soon after he made his WWF debut, he gained membership in the stable Evolution and went on to win the first championship with the company – The Intercontinental Championship.
Orton is, also, credited for winning the World Heavyweight Championship at the young age of 24 years. He was hailed for being the youngest world champion after this win.
In the year 2006, Orton partnered with Edge to form the Rated-RKO, a tag team. The duo secured the World Tag Team Championship. However, in mid-2007, the Rated-RKO tag team parted ways.
Also, Orton’s achievements include winning two WWE Championships in a single night when he was 27 years old. He is the second youngest wrestler to win the WWE Champion two times.
Through the years 2013 to 2015, Orton joined forces with the Authority and was declared to be the “face of the WWE”.
Orton’s exemplary record includes winning the WWE Championship ten times and WWE’s World Heavyweight Championship four times.
He is hailed for securing the third-highest championship victories at 14 wins; he shares this honour with Triple H (14 wins).
Orton is behind John Cena and Ric Flair (both have 16 wins to their credit).
