Durgamati is an Indian horror flick directed by G. Ashok. He made this movie that is the remake of his own Telugu- Tamil bilingual movie ’Bhaagmathie’ (2018). In this movie Bhumi Pednekar is casted as the lead protagonist as an IAS officer. Durgamati has a stellar cast including Bhumi Pednekar, Arshad Warsi, Jisshu Sengupta, Mahie Gill, and Karan Kapadia. This music of this horror flick is composed by Tanishk Bagchi, Malini Awasthi, Naman Adhikari, etc.
The film is produced by Abundantia Entertainment, and the Cape of Good Films. The film’s production team also includes Akshay Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, and Vikram Malhotra under the banner of T- Series. Durgamati is available now for streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 11 December 2020.
Durgamati is a story of suspense, horror, and vengeance. The story unfolds that a politician Eshwar Prasad pledges to resign from his office. This is due to the failure of recovering idols for 6 months. This troubles the opposition political parties who plan to ruin his credibility taking help from CBI Joint Director Vaishnavi Natarajan and ACP Sampath. The duo starts to interrogate IAS Chanchala (Bhumi Pednekar, and Eashwar Prasad’s close aides. The CBI shifts them to an old haunted house called Bhagamathi Bungalow. The CBI team starts to question her for clues against Eashwar.
Later, during the dead of the night the spirit of Bhaagamathi possessed Chanchala. They thought that she is trying to escape their questions. But later she is found to hurt her under the influence of the spirit. A spiritual guru was also called to check if there are any presence of ghosts in the bungalow. Later, it is revealed that Chanchala left some clues for them against Eashwar in Arabic. When the CBI team finally learns from Chanchala that she is ignorant about knowing Arabic, they were shocked. This hints them that Bhagamathi Bungalow is actually haunted, and there is some paranormal activity going on there.
